Bandey Hefler Friendship Exchange

Bandey Hefler is a fun-filled friendship exchange across the Atlantic between Rotarians near Boston, Rotary District 7910, and London, Rotary District 1110 and 1145. Since 1977, approximately 20 couples have been traveling across the Atlantic from England to the U.S. followed by 20 couples the following year going from the U.S. to England.

Toastmasters and Rotary

In a new strategic alliance, members of Toastmasters and Rotary will enhance their skills, broaden their networks and increase their positive impact in communities through a new collaboration. The relationship between the two organizations will begin at the grassroots level with local club members learning and working together. Additionally, Toastmasters will create a set of eight structured communication and leadership development courses for Rotary with a phased rollout that will be available in 2020. |

Bridges to Malawi

Brian will give us an update on Bridges to Malawi BTW), a 501c3 nonprofit organization based in Hudson. BTM is a small committed group of American health care professionals and extraordinary Malawians. From malaria treatment, to hand pumps for irrigation, to $10 microfinance loans, they are making a difference in Malawi, one of the poorest countries in the world. The Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley has previously partnered with BTW on a Rotary Global Grant to prevent malaria and save lives, particularly young children and expectant mothers.

Lianna Kushi is the Executive Director of Entrepreneurship for All (EforAll) in Lowell & Lawrence. EforAll's mission is to accelerate economic and social impact through entrepreneurship in mid-sized cities. Now in eight communities in Massachusetts and one in Colorado, the organization supports entrepreneurs to start businesses both small and large in scale. It believes in the need to invest and attract entrepreneurs in these under-served communities in order to reduce inequality and revitalize the economy. |
