Update on Guatemala Water Project

Funded by a Rotary Foundation grant sponsored by the Rotary Club of Nashoba Valley, the WPI Rotaract Club and Engineers Without Borders-USA implemented 22 rainwater harvesting systems in the village of Guachtug, Guatemala. As a result of this project, the approximately 220 indigenous Mayan people who live in Guachtug will no longer need to depend on a contaminated water basin as their main source of drinking water. This project also improves the lives of the people of Guachtug by reducing the amount of time the women and children spend collecting and carrying water.
